Turn your spindle into an air gun with the Elrond pneumatic head and deliver controlled air exactly where you want it. Save your tools, and your machine, and keep your parts in-spec through:
- In-process part blowouts, clearing chips from holes or pockets
- End-of-cycle cleaning of your finished part
Elrond keeps the chips (and your operator) off of the part and out of the machine.
Automate Chip Clearing and Part Cleaning
Because Elrond works as a tool in your spindle, it can be programmed with the same G-code or CAD/CAM package you're already using. A simple "facing" routine can clear the whole table of chips and coolant, while "drilling" will direct Elrond to clear chips out of the deepest holes.
We've installed the pneumatic solenoid and relay system into our shop's Haas TM-3P for quick and easy M-code based control.
Less operator involvement
Elrond takes care of clearing chips and blowing off your parts so your operator doesn't need to. With a simple, removable compressed air line, your machine (and your part) isn't dependent on a hand-held air gun. Not only is this safer for your machine operator, it enables them to monitor more machines - decreasing cycle time and increasing overall throughput.
Machine Compatibility & Customizability
Elrond was designed around compatibility with different machines and fittings you'll already have around your shop. The Elrond body has a 1/2" shank to fit your existing tool-holding, air comes in through a 1/4" push-to-connect, and out through a 1/4" compression fitting.
While the push-to-connect fittings offers quick and easy connections, the compression fitting accommodates standard copper tubing which can be bent to fit your target application. And, since each fitting is pre-threaded to 1/8" NPT they can be swapped out to better suit your needs.
